As a social enterprise organization, ECEC has created a variety of commercial activities to provide youth employment opportunities as well as to help sustain our community based programs.
The ECEC produce stand, open seasonally, features a variety of vegetables from the market garden, established in 2012, adjacent to the Fort Umpqua site. Student employees learn both gardening and marketing techniques. ECEC is helping provide fresh, nutritious food to its community and making generous donations to area food banks.
The Outpost is staffed by student employees and offers delicious coffee concoctions, smoothies and baked goods. In addition, Umpqua ice cream is used to create delicious confections, floats and sundaes. Sandwiches, hotdogs and other snacks are also available. The cafe is open during the ECEC summer season., mid-June to Labor Day.
The ECEC Gift Shop features work from local artisans as well as an extensive selection of gifts and is open daily during the summer season from 10am-5pm, days when the produce stand is open and Friday & Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend.
Weddings in the park, in the Garden Haven or at the Fort Umpqua site allow for a choice of settings for a meaningful ceremony. An on-site coordinator is available to provide help and suggestions.
